Growing too fast is not a problem if you only eat the leaves- then you can keep it pruned small. If you love the pods like I do, pruning it will prevent it from flowering, and letting it grow makes it very difficult to pick the pods (off a 35' tree).

I guess you could treat it like a fruit tree then, no nitrogen and lots of the other two.

Have you ever tried to eat all the leaves of a tree? How about three trees (I have three)? It isn't possible. I pick leaves to eat them and they quickly grow back.   I would need to prune every month to keep it small and then I wouldn't get pods.

Actually, I have never fertilized any of my moringa trees. Never, ever.

I hear moringa leaves are used as fertilizer.

Yes, they do. They also make great worm food resulting in healthier castings.

My moringa doesn't grow back where I pick the leaves off.  It grows taller but the leaves on the bottom never grow back.  What is a good strategy for harvesting my moringa sustainably?

Ok, great.  Did you root the cuttings and plant them as well?

How much of the top would I need to keep intact in order to root cuttings?
